GERANIUM Patricia \nCommonly known as Cranesbill and first grown in the British Isles in the 16th century. \nThe Geranium of the herbaceous border is a hardy perennial which is often grown as a ground cover plant, its mounds of dense and deeply divided leaves serving to suppress weed growth. \nShould not be confused with the half hardy Pelargonium which is popularly referred to as Geranium. \nGeranium Patricia bears pink or magenta flowers with black centres over a low-growing mound of deeply cut dark green foliage. \nThe leaves turn fabulous shades of red in autumn. \nCranesbill will thrive in any reasonable soil but to grow successfully it is best to avoid water-logged sites. \nExcellent as ground cover and will even thrive in a shaded area. \nThe saucer shaped flowers should be removed once they have faded, this encourages further flowering. \nKeep for slugs in spring and cut the stems back to ground level in autumn. \nAll pictures used are of mature plants in bloom and are for illustration purposes only, they may not reflect plants at all times of the year. \nOur Geranium plants are supplied ex. 9cm pots, they can be planted out immediately but better results may be obtained if they are grown on for a short time in a slightly larger container before transplanting to their final growing positions. \nJohn Lord has some great hints and tips on this very useful species. \nPACK 1 PLANT \nIMMEDIATE \n \nOur wide and varied range of Perennials can be view here. \n We ask all our buyers to remember Cranesbill are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons.  Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website.
