Echinacea Magnus. Coneflower.
.ECHINACEA Magnus
\nAlso known as Coneflower.
\nA compact perennial which forms lush clumps of dark green foliage with an upright growth habit.
\nFrom June to September Echinacea Magnus produces large, deep pink daisy-like flowers with drooping petals and large ginger or burnished orange centres on stiff stems.
\nThe slightly scented blooms are suitable for cutting and/or drying and are also very attractive to butterflies and bees while birds flock to feast on the seed-heads.
\nMagnus is shorter than many other Echinacea varieties and this makes it very useful for growing in the middle of the herbaceous border or in large drifts and is even versatile enough to plant in containers.
\nEasy to grow in any reasonable fertile well drained soil but dislikes very dry or boggy conditions.
\nFully hardy Echinacea Magnus is a tough plant and like other coneflowers is well able to cope with anything the weather can throw at it except drought.
\nRequires little attention, cut back all dead flower stems to the ground in autumn and lift and divide overgrown clumps in spring or autumn.
\nJust like all coneflowers it will benefit from a mulch of compost or well-rotted farm yard manure in spring or autumn.
\nThe long flowering season makes this one of the best perennials for cutting.
\nAll pictures used are of mature plants in full bloom and are for illustration purposes only, they may not reflect plants at all times of the year.
\n Echinacea Magnus ex. 9cm pots, they can be planted out immediately but better results may be obtained if they are grown on for a short time in a slightly larger container before transplanting to their final growing positions

\nWe ask all our buyers to remember Coneflower plants are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons. Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.\n\nWe want you to be happy with your purchase and all our Echinacea are checked and inspected visually before packing. at . . Due to the nature of the item we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll.
