Artfully designed Viking axe made of 925 sterling silver. The axe blade is decorated on the front with a howling wolf, on the back with a raven. Both sides of the eyelet are decorated with a Wotan knot. The pendant is partially blackened, so that the design comes into its own. It is suitable for men and women. Background: Axes were an integral part of everyday life of the Vikings. In addition to simple working axes, there were more and more special battle axes in the course of the Viking Age, which were very thin and sharp. Often the axe blades were richly decorated, so that the weapons were also used for solemn ceremonial occasions.   As well as ravens and wolves were known by the Vikings as animals of the battlefield. According to Norse mythology, Odin had two wolves: Geri and Freki (the greedy and the voracious). After the Edda, Odin left to his wolves all the food that was served to him in Valhalla, since he himself only drank mead. But Odin's fate is also closely connected with another wolf: In the world fire Ragnarök, the father of the gods is devoured by Fenrir, the giant Fenris wolf. In addition, Odin also had two ravens, Hugin and Munin. He sent them out daily on reconnaissance so that they could tell him everything that was going on on earth. The raven was therefore considered a symbol of knowledge.  The Wotan knot (Valknut) consists of three intertwined triangles and stands for the power of Wotan / Odin.
