M24 Coiled Stainless Thread Inserts

M24 coiled stainless steel thread inserts built from cold-formed A2-grade stainless steel wire with a consistent diamond-shaped cross-section. Designed for permanent installation into tapped holes in low-strength base materials including aluminium, zinc, copper, and thermoplastics such as POM, PA6, and PC. Dimensions conform to ISO/DIN standards: nominal thread M24 × 3.0 mm, free length 18 mm, recommended minimum engagement depth 1.5× nominal diameter (36 mm). Insert wall thickness and coil pitch are calibrated to balance insertion torque and retained thread strength. The installation sequence follows industry-standard practice: drill to specified diameter (Ø22.5 mm), tap with M24 × 3.0 mm plug tap, then wind insert in using a matching installation tool. Tang break-off is clean and flush; final thread is fully functional immediately after installation. No curing, cooling, or post-installation waiting required. Widely deployed in UK-based contract manufacturing for medical device enclosures, agricultural machinery control boxes, and retrofitting legacy equipment where original thread integrity has degraded over time or due to improper maintenance.
